Role of TC-Sestamibi Myocardial Perfusion Scintigraphy for Detection of Incidence of Ischaemic Heart Disease and Risk Stratification in Asymptomatic Chronic Kidney Disease Patients - A Pilot Study

Material and Methods Current study was conducted in large accredited academic institute serving as a tertiary care centre in the city of Mumbai, India. Study was done in Department Of Nuclear Medicine by performing myocardial perfusion scintigraphy in all cases. Patients with CKD with or without dialysis are at a higher risk of ischaemic heart disease due to multiple risk factors associated with renal disorders. Gated myocardial perfusion scintigraphy used in c o n j u n c t i o n w i t h p h y s i c a l o r pharmacological exercise testing gives information about perfusion, ejection fraction, wall motion and myocardial thickening.
